How To Hepcdac 60mg Work?
When a person is infected with the hepatitis C virus, the liver is targeted and becomes inflamed; this is known as hepatitis. The longer the virus remains in the body, the worse the damage to the liver becomes. Daclatasvir targets the hepatitis C virus, blocks multiple steps in the replication process of the HCV. This prevents the virus particles from duplicating themselves, allowing the body to clear (remove) the virus from the blood.
What is Hepcdac 60mg Tablet?
Daclatasvir was discovered as a first-in-class inhibitor of the non-structural viral protein 5A (NS5A), a phosphoprotein that plays an important role in hepatitis C replication. The exact mechanism by which daclatasvir inhibits the NS5A replication complex is unclear, but it is believed that daclatasvir inhibits viral RNA replication and virion assembly.

Precaution of Hepcdac 60mg tablet
Based on the results of drug interaction trials, no clinically relevant changes in exposure were observed for cyclosporine, escitalopram, ethinyl estradiol/norgestimate, methadone, midazolam, tacrolimus, or tenofovir with concomitant use of daclatasvir. No clinically relevant changes in daclatasvir exposure were observed with cyclosporine, escitalopram, famotidine, omeprazole, sofosbuvir, tacrolimus, or tenofovir. No clinically relevant interaction is anticipated for daclatasvir or the following concomitant medications: peg-interferon alfa, ribavirin, or antacids.
The concomitant use of daclatasvir and other drugs may result in known or potentially significant drug interactions, some of which may lead to :
- loss of therapeutic effect of daclatasvir and possible development of resistance;
- dosage adjustments of concomitant medications or daclatasvir; and,
- possible clinically significant adverse reactions from greater exposures of concomitant drugs or daclatasvir.
See Table 2 for drugs contraindicated with daclatasvir due to loss of efficacy and possible development of resistance . See Table 3 for steps to prevent or manage other possible and known significant drug interactions .
Consider the potential for drug interactions before and during daclatasvir therapy, review concomitant medications during daclatasvir therapy, and monitor for the adverse reactions associated with the concomitant drugs.
Uses of Hepcdac 60mg
Daclatasvir is used with another antiviral medication (sofosbuvir) to treat chronic (long-lasting) hepatitis C, a viral infection of the liver. These medications together reduce the amount of hepatitis C virus in your body, which helps your immune system fight the infection and may help your liver recover. Chronic hepatitis C infection can cause serious liver problems such as scarring (cirrhosis), or liver cancer.
